Responses to questions by VIMS [7pg PDF] that we also had asked well before February 2007 hearing.
Some highlights:
There is a need for high quality residential housing in the Shore Drive as demonstrated by the rapid development of condominiums…
And:
Accordingly, an economic analysis of the feasibility of building less than 1,063 units is not required. Do you know how much Indigo Dunes is projected to make the developers?
And as hard as it is to believe:
No information on avian habitats has surfaced in consultations with DCR and VCG&IF. If VIMS has site specific information regarding the use of the site by wading birds and shorebirds for foraging, nesting and breeding, the Applicant requests this information as soon as possible.
Interestingly birds of prey like Bald Eagles have been photographed near Pleasure House Point along with at least hundreds of wading birds & shorebirds.

Topics: Pleasure House Point [PHP]Did you here about the plan the City is proposing to move dredge material, by dump truck, from the boat ramp at the Lesner Bridge?
It would take at least 6 months to complete and expect that approximately 40-50 trucks per day would [head eastbound on Shore Drive from East Stratford Rd…Jimmys].

A big thank you to the Shore Drive residents who agreed to volunteer for the VB2007 events at First Landing State Park. Pam from the Park has told me that because of your response, they meet their goal of 200 volunteers for the 2 day event. Excellent job. Those of you that couldn’t volunteer, you still have a chance to see this once in a lifetime event. Tickets are still on sale for the Thursday and Friday events. Check out the attached flyer for details.

The City of Virginia Beach is performing a study to replace the Lesner Bridge over the Lynnhaven Inlet. This questionnaire is the first step in obtaining public input and provides an opportunity to seek thoughts and ideas about the replacement of the Lesner Bridge. We request that you take a little time to complete this questionnaire so we can learn about your views and suggestions at this very early stage of the study, before work actually begins on the design of the project.
You may return this questionnaire to any of the Project representatives in attendance tonight. If you would like more time, please complete the form and send via US Mail to:
