Old Business-
· Indigo Dunes Project – Recent Wetlands hearing was deferred until May 21, 2007. This date is solid and the project will be heard. No more deferrals. Keep those emails going.
· Virginia Beach Resort Hotel Conditional Use Permit Hearing – City Council approved this CUP with several conditions.
· Cape Henry Beach Sand Replenishment Task Force – Posiden Court, Seagate and Mariner’s Mark expressed interest in talking to SDCC about concerns. Lynnhaven Dunes sent a response letter affirming their “No to anything position”. Meetings will be scheduled beginning in March.
New Business
· 332 apartments are being planned for Marina Shores Marina. Proposed project will go before Ches Bay Board on Monday Feb 26th. Permit is requesting rezoning from B-2 to A-36 to allow 332 apartments that range from 4 to 7 stories tall.
· Bayfront Town Hall Meeting Planned for March 26th – The SDCC is sponsoring a Town Hall meeting for the Bayfront area on March 26, 2007 from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. The meeting will be held at Baylake United Methodist Church, 4300 Shore Drive, VB, 23455 at the corner of Treasure Island Drive. City Councilmen Jones and Wood plan on attending along with City staff from Public Works, Wetlands Planning and Costal Engineering. The program portion of the meeting will cover the proposed Indigo Dunes project, Shore Drive safety improvements and demonstration projects and the Cape Henry sand replenishment project. Questions will also be taken from the floor on any neighborhood issues.
· SDCC help in enforcement of Resort CUP – One of the conditions presented in the approved CUP was a one year trial period. City Staff is working on a way to check/enforce this condition. Zoning inspectors don’t work evenings and police may not have time to answer potential discrepancies. Should the SDCC offer to have a volunteer or two on call as a biased observer to any complaints?
